Westport Weston YMCA, CT

Details
The new Westport Weston Family YMCA at Camp Mahackeno is a brand new, 55,000 sq. ft. facility relocated from a historic, nearly century-old building in historic Westport steeped in history. By relocating the new facility to Camp Mahackeno, which has served for decades as the YMCA's outdoor center, the Y is now in a more convenient and accessible location for the majority of its service population. The new facility, a Robert A.M. Stern-designed building, represents the first of two phases. This first phase includes a new 2-pool aquatic center, where the larger, 12-lane competition pool is now home to the Y’s successful competitive and masters swimming programs. A second, warm-water pool will allow the Y to expand its aquatic offerings to include more programs serving children, families and older adults, as well as therapeutic programs. The other major venues include a gymnasium, fitness center, group exercise studio, family adventure center, and community rooms. The new Y opened its doors to the community in September of 2014.
