This renovation and expansion is set to bring the aging flagship YMCA in Tacoma, WA up to the current contemporary standards set by the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties’ newer facilities. A new 35,000 sq ft addition will bring the total square footage to 115,000 sq ft while adding additional program space, including an expanded Wellness Center, Family Adventure Center, Child Watch, Multipurpose Meeting Rooms, Group Exercise Studios, and a Family Recreation Pool Tank. The largely glass addition is positioned on the front of the building, visible from the street, giving a new face to the original YMCA.
