Cost: $21 Million
Completion Date: October 2015
Architect: Sasaki
Construction Manager: Harvey Construction

Merrimack Valley YMCA’s Andover / North Andover branch renovation to its original 1970’s suburban facility and new construction have repositioned this Y for the next generation of service to the local communities. The project, costing $21 million, was completed in October 2015 under facility development advisor Gro, architect Sasaki, and construction manager Harvey Construction. The facility, totaling 50,000 sq ft, includes a three-story addition that takes advantage of the site’s natural topography as it is built into the site’s sloping terrain. The new, mostly glass addition floods the interior activity centers with natural light, including a new two-level wellness center, warm-water family pool, and community gathering lobby / lounge / pool viewing area. Unique to this project is the inclusion in the scope of three community partners. In addition to the YMCA, the facility is also the new home to Andover Senior Center, Andover Teen Center, and an outpatient rehab & services center of Lawrence General Hospital. This facility and its programming are a true testament to this Y’s commitment to community partnership.
